July 30, 2020 - Dr. Thomas L. Brandon, Ph.D, P.E., M.ASCE of the Roanoke Branch of Virginia Section habeen selected by the Society's Geo-Institute to receive the  2020 Thomas A. Middlebrooks Award for co-author of the paper “Characterization of the Reduction in Undrained Shear Strength in Fine-Grained Soils due to Cyclic Loading” published in the May 2019 issue of Journal of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering.

February 19, 2020 - Dr. Peter J. Vickery, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, F.ASCE from the Eastern Branch of the North Carolina Section habeen selected by the ASCE Cermak Awards Committee to receive the  2020 Jack E. Cermak Medal for “his contributions in the development of hurricane hazard models for risk analysis and for his major impact on the development of building codes and standards in North America.”

Culver, Ph.D., A.M.ASCE from the Blue Ridge Branch of the Virginia Section habeen selected by the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute to receive the  2020 Margaret S. Petersen Award for “her selfless dedication to preparing and mentoring future civil and environmental engineers and to serving the professional community through service and leadership.”

Horner Award for the paper, “Characterization of Environmental Pollutants in Sediment Collected during Street Sweeping Operations to Evaluate its Potential for Reuse,” published in the February 2019 issue of Journal of Environmental Engineering.
