2017 National Concrete Canoe Competition Finals
Colorado School of Mines will host the 30th annual National Concrete Canoe Competition June 17-19 at Evergreen Lake. The competition is put on by the American Society for Civil Engineers, and challenges student engineers to design and build a workable canoe made of concrete.
Teams from across the country competed in regional competitions to qualify for the national competition in Golden, Colorado. At competition, teams are rated on four criteria, each worth 25 percent of their final score: a design paper, an oral presentation, the final canoe and five canoe races.
