Message from the Chair
Greetings from the Leader Training Committee! Time flies when you’re having fun, and can you believe we’re almost halfway through my term as chair already?
All three 2026 Multi-Region Leadership Conferences are in the books, and we have already begun planning for our annual Presidents and Governors Forum and Leader Orientation in October. New this year, the event slides one month later to align with the Board of Directors meeting and ASCE Business meeting as well as OPAL. We hope you can attend this event where we’ll have high powered presenters and content, including one of my favorite sessions, our roundtable discussion on Section/Branch challenges and developing your presidential plan.
The Committee on Geographic Units (CGU) has also kicked off our spring webinar campaign. Please don’t miss these wonderful opportunities to learn more about a variety of topics important to Sections, Branches, and Regions. But if you do miss them, they are recorded and posted to the LTC Resources page.
Finally, my last message mentioned that LTC would be assembling a Task Committee on Institute Chapters to determine how to enhance the relationship between Local Institute Chapters and our geographic units. That effort is underway. We are also assembling a second Task Committee on LTC/CGU Awards Changes to take a comprehensive look at all facets of both our Section and Branch Awards and our Section and Branch Website Awards. With the next round of Multi-Region Leadership Conferences pushed to Fall 2027, we have an ideal opportunity to realign our awards with the changing needs of our Society and ensure we are best serving our members – you!
